It’s ugly, I won’t deny that, but I know what it is and what it can do. That makes me happy.
But, this makes me smile more:
I may still browse CL for crappy cars, but I am content with my fleet. Give it a couple months and I might wish I could add a diesel truck because reasons, but for now I am beyond happy with my shitboxes.

Hey, if that car is good enough for Richard Hammond, I’m guessing it’s good enough for a few other people.

So much 3 wheeling! It is hilarious to watch FISTs at autox.

It’s wonderful. Definitely not for everybody, but worth it if you know what you are getting into.

Ok, so I have an honest question. If you feel it is ugly, then why did you buy it?

The FiST is my favourite car to watch at autocross. They tripod so easily. It’s hilarious.
After three years of loving my FR-S I traded it for a BRZ, and I love it even more.

I like the look personally.

I wouldn't really say the FiST is ugly

Oh and I'm going to NSH the week before you

That’s too bad. :(

It’s a jelly bean with a catfish face.

Because I am completely function over form.

I like it, but it’s ugly. Kind of like a bulldog.

Fair enough. If it makes ya happy, that’s what matters.

It’s not a bad looker but I do see them everywhere from base model to ST three and five door and van.
There some good looking motors out there in the range though.

I have the opposite problem. I love the way my car looks so I’m pretty much overlooking everything else.

We don’t get those, but I wouldn’t get the Vauxhall/Opel(whatever it is) due to who makes it, and IIRC, the Scirroco is on a relatively old platform.

I don’t hate how it looks, I just don’t think it’s pretty. I appreciate it for what it is, and a looker it is not.

I quite like the VXR. The Scirocco has been around since 2008 with a facelift (very subtle) last year or so but I think it still looks good.
I’d definitely have a Scirocco over a Fiesta purely because there are far fewer of them.

ST’s are fairly rare here, as my dealer had never seen one.

I’d say about 25% of Fiestas I see are STs because they are so in-expensive. I wouldn’t say cheap at all but good value fo money certainly.

Point taken.

I call my ST a DustBuster. Catfish is fitting too.

I live in the Southeastern U.S., so everyone has trucks, so my car feels even smaller and is quite rare. Though now that I have mine, two other people purchased one.

I’ve never seen the point of a truck unless it’s used everyday.
Here we mostly drive hatchbacks and if we need to move something or such-like. We ask a mate if we can borrow their van or we hire one for the day.
U.S. size trucks would be difficult to park here in the U.K. not to mention driving around almost any city unless you kept to main roads and very light traffic.
The FiST while being small, agile with a lot of pep is very practical for daily life. Great for a young individual, commuter car or small car for a couple, for a young family it will be a stretch but that’s when the Focus comes in and so on (shame the U.S. doesn’t get the Mondeo/Fusion in hatchback and estate form but strangely a sedan/saloon form, like some one said we need a Mondeo for North America but lets make the hatchback less practical and turn it into a saloon).

There are a few reasons trucks make sense for everyday life around here, but not many. I personally dislike driving full-size trucks, unless they are a dually. But some of the roads around here are straight from the third world, so a truck can handle them a bit better than a small hatch.

I usually see Toyota Hiluxs, Mitsubishi L200s and Nissan Navaras, usually for construction, etc...
Then the farms have Land Rover 90s and 110s.
